Seems right to me, as it only counts Steam user base and is only playable by those who pre-ordered. Plus it is quite late in the night (here in Europe). I am sure over time this will even grow more, after many players downloaded it over night.

What happened to Steam Charts ? The graphs are not as detailed as before For example if I go to Halo MCC page and select All, the graph is accurate only starting with June 2020, the data before shows only MONTHLY average.

In 2018 when using steam was often related to compability problems it wouldnt be the case. - Time frame is not a problem here. If steam charts would work for couple weeks/months then you can advocate that fluctuations can be related to launching game on steam and players moving between separate launcher and steam one (gw2 example rn)
