The Bordentown Regional School District is a comprehensive regional public school district that serves students in pre-Kindergarten through twelfth grade from communities in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The district serves students from Bordentown City, Bordentown Township and Fieldsboro Borough. [3] [4]
In 1920 it was sold to the New Jersey State Board of Education for $1 on the condition [11] that it would be “in trust for and [o]n behalf of the Schoolchildren of the State of New Jersey and to be forever preserved as a memorial of Clara Barton, deceased.” [10] It was then turned over to the Bordentown Historical Society.
The Bordentown Regional High School Scotties [2] compete in the Burlington County Scholastic League, which is comprised of public and private high schools covering Burlington, Mercer and Ocean counties in Central Jersey, operating under the supervision of the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA).
The district develops apprenticeship and job training programs with local businesses and educational institutions. As of the 2023–24 school year, the district, comprised of two schools, had an enrollment of 2,067 students and 154.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 13.4:1.
The school came under the direct auspices of the New Jersey Board of Education in 1903, with its capital expenditures, curriculum and staffing under state approval.
