Nandini Karnataki (8 January 1939 – 25 March 2014), [1] known mononymously as Nanda, was an Indian actress who appeared in Hindi and Marathi films. Regarded as one of the finest actresses of Indian cinema, her career spanned over 30 years.

Other famous names in family included his younger maternal half-brother Master Vinayak, Radhabai's son after she married Karnataki, and maternal cousin V. Shantaram, son of Kamalabai, Radhabai's younger sister. Baburao married Shree Kumudini and had two sons and daughters each with her.
Eleven years later, in 1951, Bal Gandharva married Gauharbai Karnataki (perhaps better known simply as Gohar Bai, and not to be confused with Gauhar Jaan Indian dancer from Kolkata), sister of the famous singer-actress Amirbai Karnataki. Gauharbai hailed from a family full of singers and dancers, and was a Muslim.
