Watoga State Park is a state park located near Seebert in Pocahontas County, West Virginia. The largest of West Virginia's state parks, it covers slightly over 10,100 acres (41 km 2 ). The forest is located immediately adjacent to Watoga State Park, which itself was originally a state forest prior to 1934. [3] Because of Watoga's proximity, Cal Price has not been extensively developed. There is a limited amount of primitive camping. Over two-thirds of Cal Price is only accessible by hiking. [2]

Thorn Creek Wildlife Management Area, is located about 7 miles south of Franklin, West Virginia in Pendleton County. Thorn Creek WMA is located on 528 acres (214 ha) of steep terrain along hills above Thorn Creek. [2] The WMA is accessed from Thorn Creek Road about 4 miles off U.S. 219, south of Franklin.
