The Shepherd's Chapel is a Christian church and broadcast facility in Gravette, Arkansas. The church was founded by Arnold Benjamin Murray (April 20, 1929 – February 12, 2014), who served as senior pastor until his death. [1] As of February 2014, his son Dennis Arnold Murray, the former associate pastor, presides as senior pastor of the church.

Shepherd Church is a nondenominational megachurch (one with at least 2,000 congregants) in the "Southern California Bible Belt". [1] In 2008, Outreach magazine ranked Rutherford's Shepherd Church 92nd in size in America, with attendance of 7,400. [4]
The church was originally known as the Anglo-Saxon Christian Congregation in Lancaster, California, assuming its present name in 1957. [2] The hyphenated name was used to express the fact that Jesus was not a Jew. [3] After Wesley Swift's death in 1970, the ministry was continued by his wife Lorraine Swift.
The church began meeting in a few temporary venues under the name "Shepherd of the Hills," though the church remained baptist, having recently joined the Southern Baptist Convention. In 1990, the church acquired a larger property in Porter Ranch, and in 1991, construction was finished on its now historic, ranch-style building. [4]
