"Native New Yorker" is a disco song written by Sandy Linzer and Denny Randell. It was first recorded in 1977 by Frankie Valli and released on his album Lady Put the Light Out . The song was written by Sandy Linzer and L. Russell Brown, [2] and produced by Linzer. It was the New York -based disco group's only UK No. 1 single, spending two weeks at the top of the charts from July 26 to August 8, 1980, [ 1 ] and was their most successful single on the UK Singles Chart.
In a retrospective review, Joe Viglione of AllMusic recalled that the album "is singer Frankie Valli again finding the magic without his Four Seasons, this time in the '70s with two big hits in two different genres", and called it "an important and forgotten catalog item that needs to be expanded and re-released with bonus tracks and liner notes that give it its proper place in music history."
