The FIBT World Championships 1974 took place in St. Moritz, Switzerland for the record twelfth time. The Swiss city had hosted the event previously in 1931 (Four-man), 1935 (Four-man), 1937 (Four-man), 1938 (Two-man), 1939 (Two-man), 1947 , 1955 , 1957 , 1959 , 1965 , and 1970 .
Lori won the Bobsleigh Overall World Cup four-man championship in 1989-90. He won nine Crystal Globes for top three finishes in Overall World Cup final standings [1] and totaled twenty two World Cup medals and fourteen Canadian Championship titles. He Lori was instrumental in establishing Canada as a world power in the sport of bobsledding.

He won two medals in the four-man event at the FIBT World Championships with a silver in 1973 and a bronze in 1974. Competing in three Winter Olympics Delle Karth earned his best finish of fifth in the four-man event at Lake Placid in 1980. In the 1985-86 Bobsleigh World Cup he finished second in the four-man championship.
