As of 2020, Laos has not qualified for the FIFA World Cup, AFC Asian Cup or Asian Games. [6] [7] Since making its appearance at the 1995 Southeast Asian Games, it has competed in the inaugural 1996 AFF Championship, drawing against Vietnam 1–1 and winning against Cambodia 1–0.
