Seven Magic Mountains is an art installation in Ivanpah Valley, along the far southern end of Las Vegas Boulevard. It was created by the Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone , but commissioned and financed by the Art Production Fund and the Nevada Museum of Art . [ 2 ]
Ugo Rondinone (born November 30, 1964) is a Swiss-born contemporary artist. Rondinone is widely known for his temporary, large-scale land art sculpture, Seven Magic Mountains (2016–2021), with its seven fluorescently-painted totems of large, car-size stones stacked 32 feet (9.8 m) high. [1]
He was hired by the Nevada Museum of Art as official photographer of Ugo Rondinone's Seven Magic Mountains. [1] Gorgoni's photographs of land art, installation art and other emergent forms were published in the 1972 book, The New Avant-Garde: Issues for the Art of the Seventies. [5]
