The Shinjuku NS Building (新宿NSビル, Shinjuku Enu Esu Biru) is a skyscraper located in Shinjuku, Tokyo, Japan. The name comes from co-developers, Nihon Seimei and Sumitomo. The Shinjuku Center Building serves as a workplace for 10,000 people, and is visited by over 25,000 people daily. In 2009, the building was the first in the world to be retrofit with seismic dampers to suppress the vibrations caused by long-period ground motion of earthquakes. A total of 288 oil dampers were installed on floors 15 through 39.
