Cabin on Mic Mac Lake. The park is 9,346 acres (3,782 ha) and contains six inland lakes (four of which support northern pike and one supports walleye fishing), four waterfalls, and a beach on Lake Superior. The 70-foot-tall (21 m) waterfall High Falls located on the Baptism River is the highest waterfall located entirely within Minnesota. [2]
Camping: 2 group camps along the river provide tent camping opportunities for 35-50 people each. Drive-in camping is available for both tents and RVs. There are two main camping areas, one near the river and one on top of the bluffs. Several sites on top of the bluff are accessible via a short (max. 100 yards) walk from a parking area.

Itasca State Park (/ aɪ ˈ t æ s k ə /) is a state park of Minnesota, United States, and contains the headwaters of the Mississippi River.The park spans 32,690 acres (132.3 km 2) of northern Minnesota, and is located about 21 miles (34 km) north of Park Rapids, Minnesota and 25 miles (40 km) from Bagley, Minnesota.
Nearly all of Minnesota's glacial landforms derive from the last of them, the Wisconsin glaciation. [11] One feature of this time in the park are the rock ridges near the campground, scoured smooth by the glacier and known as roches moutonnées. [13] Another is the Thomson Moraine, a ridge along the northwest boundary.
