Bhuragaon Revenue Circle is a sub-district administrative unit in the state of Assam, India. It is located in the district of Morigaon and is one of the six revenue circles in the district. [ 1 ] The circle's headquarter is located in the town of Bhuragaon .

On 28 January 1894, there was a peasant's uprising against the increased land revenue by the British Raj in Patharighat, a village in Darrang district. In the British response that followed, 140 peasants belonging to both Hindu and Muslim communities died from bullet wounds and another 150 were injured. [6] [7]

[4] The district is bordered to the north by the mighty Brahmaputra River, to the south by Karbi Anglong district, to the east by Nagaon district, and to the west by Kamrup district.
