Pakistan International Airlines Corporation, commonly known as Pakistan International Airlines or PIA, is the flag carrier airline of Pakistan. The airline has its head office on the grounds of Jinnah International Airport in Karachi. [1] [2] Its main bases are Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
After over 50 years of service, PIA service to New York ended in October 2017 as a result of TSA regulation preventing nonstop flights from Pakistan and the US, [64] leaving Toronto as PIA's only destination in North America – which continues to be served by nonstop flights from Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad.
It is a major focus city of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), as the primary hub has shifted to Islamabad. All other Pakistani airlines also use Jinnah International Airport as their main hub. These include airblue , SereneAir , Fly Jinnah , and AirSial as well as several charter carriers.
