Terrell is located in northern Kaufman County. U.S. Route 80 passes through the city center, leading west to Dallas and east 15 miles (24 km) to Wills Point. Interstate 20 passes through the south side of the city, leading west 19 miles (31 km) to Interstate 635 in the southeastern suburbs of Dallas (Balch Springs) and east 27 miles (43 km) to Canton.
“I don’t think there’s enough of a mechanism to hold appraisal districts accountable,” said Keller Mayor Armin Mizani.
The retired couple received a letter dated Jan. 16 from the appraisal district asking for a site inspection, then another one following up just six days later. They aren’t sure what triggered it.

[2] The population, as of 2020, is estimated to be 2,069. Originally known as Turner's Point, a post office and school were established in 1858. [3]
