South Boardman is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Kalkaska County in the U.S. state of Michigan. At the 2010 census , the CDP had a population of 536. South Boardman is located within Boardman Township .
The South Union Street–Boardman River Bridge is 75 feet (23 m) and 40 feet (12 m) wide with a 73-foot (22 m) span over the Boardman River. [2] A park with footpath runs underneath the bridge, and a dam and the attractive American Legion Memorial Bridge can be seen on each side of the bridge.

The Boardman Lake Trail or Boardman Lake Loop Trail (colloquially referred to as the "BLT" or "BLLT") is a 4-mile (6.4 km) recreational trail in Traverse City, Michigan. Established in 2005 and completed in 2022, the trail encircles Boardman Lake, and features a number of bridges over the lake and Boardman River .
Boardman Lake is a natural body of water, which would exist even without impoundment by the Union Street Dam, [16] along the course of the river, about a mile upstream from the river's mouth at Grand Traverse Bay.
