This is the email I received yesterday. I live in Geneva Illinois. I think a 10 day notice isn't right. I'll miss TIVO but I'm also cancelling my cable/Internet service with Mediacom and going to YouTube TV and Metronet Internet.

Anyone with Optimum/Altice is going to have a problem with Tivo moving forward anyway. Having to use a tuning adapter is already an issue. Losing support for cablecards only makes this worse. I was HOPING Tivo would have made their models with a built in tuning adapter and cablecards going back 10 years, but that didn't happen.
No, TiVo does not “know” devices won’t work. They have no idea what cable providers are doing and when. TiVo sells a product that is 100% compatible with cable cards and tuning adapters and every provider who uses QAM is fully capable of supporting them. Spectrum is DECIDING not to. That’s not TiVos fault nor responsibility to inform you.
I switched to Tivo for the first time (Edge) a few months ago after years of cable company DVR rentals since my last one died and instead of trading it in and continuing to pay the monthly box rental fee + DVR service fee, I realized that the Tivo Edge w/lifetime subscription and 5-year warranty I paid $450 for is the same I'd pay for DVR ...
I wrongly presumed that wifi capability would be built in. But it is not. It requires the purchase of TiVo Wifi Adapter, which with shipping is another $80. (they don't say whether third party adapters are ok, but maybe) TiVo also does not warn you that the Mini Lux can only be used with TiVo Experience 4, which I prefer not to convert to.
TiVo is still selling the CableCARD version, but I foresee that going away in the near future. TiVo had a deal on the CableCARD version for a while for 25.00 if you agreed to a contract to pay for monthly service for a year, pay for one year's service in advance, or pay for the "all-in" service.
6) Select the TiVo apk you downloaded in Step 3 (note: I had the try multiple times before it finally installed the TiVo apk). 7) Run the TiVo app like you would from any Android device with the ability to manage recordings, stream recordings, download recordings, etc. right from your Windows 11 PC.
I think the issue with releasing an ATSC 3.0 TiVo would be that many people would buy one and find they can't pick up any channels, unless TiVo can manufacture a hybrid ATSC 1.0/3.0 tuner for this new Tivo like Silicon Dust did. I think ATSC 3.0 is a bridge to far for TIVO.
For TiVo Decoder GUI, you just need to unzip the download, double-click on and install the file, and then run the application--under its Preferences menu, add your TiVo MAK, and then, to decrypt a .tivo file, add it to the Input Files box using the Add Files button to the right (you also can add multiple files at a time), set an Output Path ...
