Goo is the sixth full-length studio album by American alternative rock band Sonic Youth, released on June 26, 1990, by DGC Records.For this album, the band sought to expand upon its trademark alternating guitar arrangements and the layered sound of their previous album Daydream Nation (1988) with songwriting that was more topical than past works.
"Move Your Ass" was the introduction to Scooter in the UK, being the first of their many releases to enter the UK top 40. It was first released there on 1 April 1995, but it stalled at number 98 on the chart before dropping out of the top 100 altogether. It saw a re-release on 21 October 1995, when it entered the UK top 40 and peaked at number 23.

John Reagan "Tex" McCrary Jr. (October 13, 1910 – July 29, 2003) was an American journalist and public relations specialist. He popularized the talk show genre for television and radio along with his wife, Jinx Falkenburg, [1] with whom he hosted the first radio talk show, Meet Tex and Jinx, as well as the radio show Hi Jinx and the television talk shows At Home and The Swift Home Service Club.
One of the songwriters, James Vincent, appears with the name "Jim Donlinger" on the album. Born James Vincent Dondelinger, he was not a member of the band (prior to this he was in the band Aorta), but was asked by Bill Traut, Coven's producer (and founder of Dunwich Records, whose logo also appears on the album), to write, arrange and co-produce the album together with Traut.
