The Watervale Historic District is a resort, originally constructed as a lumber camp, located at 975-1422 Watervale Road on the shore of Lower Herring Lake in Blaine Township, Michigan. It was designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1991 [ 2 ] and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

[1] The community is located along the northern shores of Lake Michigan along U.S. Route 2 within Moran Township. As an unincorporated community, Brevort has no legally defined boundaries or population statistics of its own.
The Michigan Maritime Museum, host of the tall ship Friends Good Will, is perhaps its most famous. The Michigan Maritime Museum also hosts an electrically powered river launch called the Lindy Lou. River launch boats were used in the 1890s to the 1930s to ferry passengers up the Black River to various resorts and parks.
