The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks' Lodge 878 building was designed by the Ballinger Company [1] [2] in the Italian Renaissance Revival style. [3] [4] It is composed of the 3 + 1 ⁄ 2-story main building at 82-10 Queens Boulevard; a two-story annex to the east at 82-20 Queens Boulevard; and a three-story rear addition to the south of the main building. The organization and titles of the Improved Elks are reportedly modeled on that of the BPOE. Its Grand Lodge meets annually, and the organization is headquartered in Winton, North Carolina.
