March 11, 2016 1:50 PM. Harvey did a marvelous star turn on Rod Serling's Night Gallery. It co-starred his good friend Joanna Pettet. He supposedly stayed off his pain meds for his cancer during this performance. Written by Rod Serling the episode was named "The Caterpillar" and it has a particularly horrific twist ending.
Jean Simmons descends the stair with prominent nipples and plays the piano a melancholy music of death while killing someone she loves . I think it is a perfect portrayal of a psychopath, mostly due to all erros done.
Jean Simmons was just perfect for that role, as she has that dark air about her. One can totally believe she is a murdering witch, but at the same time one can also feel very sorry for her. I think that probably is the best, exactly for the reasons you describe.
