The Idler Wheel Tour is the fourth tour by American singer-songwriter Fiona Apple. Apple announced a small tour in Spring 2012 prompting speculation over a new album. [1] Ahead of her first performance on the tour, Apple confirmed the album. [2] The tour marked Apple's first performances outside of Los Angeles in over five years. [3]
The concept was to find musicians and porches on which they would play. The original event in Ithaca, New York, started with about 20 musicians but has since grown to over 100. [2] Bands, singers, and instrumentalists participate in the festival for no other reason than to showcase their talents and engage the community.
The Apple Festival was founded in September 1949 with the purpose of promoting La Crescent and its apple industry. The first Apple Festival was a huge success, drawing a crowd of nearly 20,000 people, and the festival has grown in size and quality every year. All profits made from the festivals are given back to the community for various projects.
