Quicksand is an American post-hardcore band from New York City, founded in 1990. Their debut self-titled EP was followed by two major-label albums, Slip (1993) and Manic Compression (1995). Quicksand's sound has been compared to that of post-hardcore bands Fugazi and Helmet . [ 2 ]
Slip is the debut studio album by American post-hardcore band Quicksand, released on February 9, 1993, through Polydor Records. "Omission" and "Unfulfilled" first appeared on their 1990 self-titled EP.
The band's previous studio album, Interiors, was released on November 10, 2017 and was the band's first release since 1995's Manic Compression.In 2018, Quicksand released an EP titled Triptych Continuum on 12-inch vinyl for Record Store Day.
"Quicksand" was built around a similar gospel-inspired delivery of the Martha and the Vandellas' breakout hit "Heat Wave", but with a slightly slower tempo and a harder edge. Like "Heat Wave", it features an analogy to a natural phenomenon, with the narrator comparing falling in love to sinking in quicksand . [ 1 ]
