Douglas County is a county in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Nevada.As of the 2020 census, the population was 49,488. [1] Its county seat is Minden. [2] Douglas County comprises the Gardnerville Ranchos, NV Micropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Reno–Carson City–Fernley, NV Combined Statistical Area.

[citation needed] It is the county seat of Douglas County [4] and is adjacent to the town of Gardnerville. The Douglas campus of the Western Nevada College is located in Minden.

Bullfrog County, Nevada, formed in 1987 from part of Nye county. Creation was declared unconstitutional and abolished in 1989. [1] Lake County, Nevada, one of the original nine counties formed in 1861. Renamed Roop County in 1862. Part became Lassen County, California in 1864. Nevada remainder annexed in 1883 to Washoe county. [1]
