As the season picks up, Nancy has spent three years in prison and now lives in a strictly monitored halfway house in New York City, where the family meet after they have spent three years in Denmark.
Dean Hodes (Andy Milder, regular character in season 3, guest character in seasons 1–2 and 4–7) is Isabelle and Quinn's father and Celia's husband; in the first season, he is also Nancy's lawyer and Doug's poker buddy.
