The Farmall M is a large three-plow row crop tractor produced by International Harvester under the Farmall brand from 1939 to 1953. It was of International Harvester's "letter series". The Farmall A, B, BN and the later C offered compact size; the H and M series provided extra plowing capability and power, while the Model H proved most popular with customers. The 'MD' Farmall offered a diesel engine, which actually started on gasoline, then was switched over to diesel when thoroughly warmed up.
The McCormick-Deering W-6 was the W-series version of the Farmall M, using the M's C248 engine, again in gasoline, distillate or kerosene versions. The remainder of the W-6 drivetrain was similar to the W-4's, but the tractor was heavier at 4,800 pounds (2,200 kg).
The Farmall 60 series tractors are general-purpose row-crop tractors that replaced the larger models of the Farmall letter series beginning in 1958. Produced from 1958 to 1963, the Farmall 460 and 560 tractors represented a modernization of the Farmall H and Farmall M respectively, with higher-horsepower 6-cylinder engines in a restyled body.

Another new addition to the long green range in 1998 was the six 4000 Series compact diesel engined tractors; these were the 20 hp (15 kW) 4100, 21.5 hp (16.0 kW) 4200, 32 hp (24 kW) 4300, 36 hp (27 kW) 4400, 39 hp (29 kW) 4500, and 43 hp (32 kW) 4600. An Advantage Series 30 hp (22 kW) 790 compact diesel engined tractor was also added.
