Cowden Park House is a house in Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland.On 17 June 1977 it was listed as a Category C(s) historic building. [1]It was built in the 1850s for Alexander Forrester-Paton, a member of the family that owned the Patons and Baldwins wool company and large areas of land in Clackmannanshire.

Alloa's oldest newspaper, the Alloa Advertiser, was founded in 1841 as a monthly but in 1855 it became a weekly. Similarly, in 1845, the monthly Clackmannanshire Advertiser became the Alloa Journal. [48] More recently the Wee County News was launched in 1995 [49] but went into liquidation in 2011. [50]
County Buildings is a municipal structure in Drysdale Street, Alloa, Clackmannanshire, Scotland. The structure, which was the headquarters of Clackmannanshire County Council and is currently used as courthouse, is a Category B listed building. [1]
The parish boundary is somewhat eccentric and extends to the outer edge of Dollar, some three miles (five kilometres) west. Due to this fact, the primary school is somewhat oddly located (the 1876 Act required the school to be at the centre of the parish) and lies over 1 ⁄ 2 mile (800 metres) west of the outer edge of the main village.
