A Wild West themed restaurant/roadside attraction known as The Longhorn Ranch operated in Glen Mills during the 1960s. In the 1980s, that same site was the location of Pulsations nightclub. The site is currently the location of a retirement community. A Glen Mills resident, pilot Michael R. Horrocks, died in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
Pulse was a gay bar, dance club, and nightclub in Orlando, Florida, founded in 2004 by Barbara Poma and Ron Legler.On June 12, 2016, the club was the scene of the second-worst mass shooting by a single gunman in U.S. history, and the deadliest terrorist attack on U.S. soil since the September 11 attacks.

In an effort to honor the 49 victims and to memorialize the location surrounding the Pulse Nightclub building, the City of Orlando dedicated $4,518 to erect a barrier fence to fulfill this purpose. Following this, the City discussed purchasing the Nightclub for $2.25 million, but the vote was postponed. [3]
