Hi all, I'm from Fort Smith but I have been to a few of the big cities in Arkansas, like LR, Hot Springs, Fayetteville(and the surrounding towns), and of course all over the River Valley, and a few smaller towns in the Ozarks. I was just curious about what the rest of the state thinks about Fort Smith.

One of the things you need to worry about on the north side is poor drainage and flooding, because Fort Smith was designed poorly. Try to find a lot with French drains, a swale, or that's slightly elevated (with the drainage away from the house), because it can get pretty swampy. Reply reply. kittyeatedyou.
Live around Chaffee Crossing or around Southside High School/near Rogers Ave. If you live near Chaffee you’ll be about 15 minutes away from “the nightlife” in Fort Smith (lol i put quotations because to me, the bars suck unless you like country music and line dancing) but if you live near Rogers Ave you’ll be 5-10 minutes from anywhere you need to go in town, that’s what I used to ...
Lived in Fort Smith over 12 years, moved away to NWA for college. Fort Smith isn't bad, but would recommend a far south and west as possible. Fort baptist is ok but NWA is much better. You should have no trouble being safe depending on your environment and your activities.
