According to the Vickers Guide, as early as 1959 Universal Industries was contracted to develop an aluminum 20 round magazine. The early production process was labor intensive with many steps and very tight tolerances to produce reliable magazines. The early magazines were stamped, folded, and welded on the spine.
If you like metal, USGI-style mags, D&H makes a 10-rd version. They accept Magpul Ranger plates, which can be helpful. But if I buy any more 10-rounders, they’ll be M3 Pmags. There is a shop that offers that service- $35 per magazine. Beyond the price, I personally prefer mags that were factory designated as 10-rounds- I don't want an LEO to be confused by extra witness holes or to find a way to restore a magazine to its original capacity.

Depending on how your state laws are written there could be a couple ways. Essentially, you'll need to put a limiting device in the magazine behind the follower. Think about a plug in the tube of a shotgun. Same concept. See if you can epoxy a rod behind the follower and trim it to the correct length to stop the follower when it gets to 5 rounds.

Just called Ruger customer service and it turns out that there is a kit to convert a Ruger American Predator rifle with the rotary mag to the AI style mag. It only cost me $19 + shipping to get it too. The conversion will only work if you have one of the green stocks with the removable mag section like in the pic. There is no part number for it.
