The first Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star was organized in Michigan in 1867. While the Order of the Eastern Star has evolved over time, its tenets, ceremonies and fundamental principles have remained relatively unchanged.

In general, the process to join the Order of the Eastern Star is as follows: For New Members. Contact the local Chapter in your geographical area with which you would like to become a member. Petition the local Chapter for membership. The local Chapter will provide the petition for membership form to you.
