Shooto (Japanese: 修斗, Hepburn: shūto) is a combat sport and mixed martial arts organization that is governed by the Shooto Association and the International Shooto Commission (ISC). Shooto was originally formed in 1985, first as a particular fighting system and then in 1989 as a mixed martial arts promotion .

Ayaka Watanabe (渡辺彩華, Watanabe Ayaka, born June 14, 1997) is a Japanese mixed martial artist, currently fighting in the super atomweight division of Shooto, where she is the current Shooto Super Atomweight champion in her first reign. A professional competitor since 2020, Watanabe has also competed in Jewels and Pancrase.

Junji Ito (Japanese: 伊藤淳二, Hepburn: Itō Junji, born August 23, 1986) is a retired Japanese mixed martial artist who competed in the flyweight (114 lbs) division. He is a four-time Shooto World Flyweight (114lbs) Championship title challenger and the former Shooto Flyweight (114 lbs) champion.
In November 1985, he became a full-time staff member of Sayama's gym. He trained in Sayama's style of Shootfighting and in June 1986, he competed at the tournament celebrated in the first Shooto event. He won the first fight by decision, the second by rear naked choke, the third by keylock and the last by pillow hold, winning the tournament. [2]
