Plzeň produces about two-thirds of the Plzeň Region GDP, even though it contains only 29.8% of its population. [21]

Plzeň is the economic centre of the entire Plzeň Region. Almost all the largest employers with headquarters in Plzeň-City District and at least 500 employers have their seat in Plzeň, the only exception is KS-Europe in Šťáhlavy.
