Mambalam taluk is a taluk of the city district of Chennai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It was formed in December 2013 from parts of the former Egmore-Nungambakkam taluk and the Mambalam-Guindy taluk. [1] It comprises the neighbourhoods of K. K. Nagar, Kodambakkam, Mambalam, Saligramam, Saidapet and Virugambakkam.

Prior to its inclusion in the then city of Madras, Mambalam was a village in the Saidapet taluk of Chingleput district. [2] The oldest surviving reference to Mambalam is believed to be in a 1726 stone plaque commemorating the construction of the Marmalong Bridge (now known as Maraimalai Adigal Bridge) across the Adyar river by the merchant Coja Petrus Uscan.

Perinthalmanna Revenue Division is the other revenue division which is included in the district. It consists of three Taluks namely Nilambur, Eranad, and Perinthalmanna. Nilambur Taluk consists of 21 villages (Subdivision of Taluk), Eranad contains 23 villages, and Perinthalmanna Taluk consists of 24 revenue villages. [2]
