The name is a combination of "game center" (the Japanese term for an arcade) and Fuji TV's call sign, JOCX-TV. It stars Shinya Arino , a member of comedy duo Yoiko , who plays home console video games from previous decades and usually attempts to get the game's ending within a single day.
The series follows "players" competing in teams under the mentorship of leading gaming influencers and content creators. It involves a group of contestants who participate in various online games, competing individually and in teams, with eliminations based on performance, challenges and voting.
Seasons 3, 4 and 5 each contained 15 episodes. Season 2 premiered on Friday, September 2, 2011, with additional games being added. At the end of the second round (and third when the series began), the player/team in the lead played "Name the Game," watching brief video clips of four arcade games and attempting to choose each title from two possibilities. The player/team won a prize for correctly identifying any three games, and a second prize for naming all four.
