Rockport is a seaside town in Essex County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 6,992 in 2020. [2] Rockport is located approximately 40 miles (64 km) northeast of Boston, at the tip of the Cape Ann peninsula. Rockport borders Gloucester to its west, and is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean in all other directions.
The Gott House is a historic late First Period house in Rockport, Massachusetts. The plank-framed gambrel-roofed cottage was built in 1702, exhibiting the transitional nature of the construction techniques used, and the gambrel roof, which is not a normal First Period feature. It also features 2 dormers that were added some time later.
