A Greek–English Lexicon, often referred to as Liddell & Scott (/ ˈ l ɪ d əl /) [1] or Liddell–Scott–Jones (LSJ), is a standard lexicographical work of the Ancient Greek language originally edited by Henry George Liddell, Robert Scott, Henry Stuart Jones, and Roderick McKenzie and published in 1843 by the Oxford University Press.
He was then Professor of Greek and Latin from 1995 until he retired in 2011. [1] Diggle also served as Public Orator between 1982 and 1993. [3] He is editor of the Cambridge Greek Lexicon, published in 2021. [4] [5] In 1985, Diggle was elected a Fellow of the British Academy, the United Kingdom's national academy for the humanities. [6]
She was the first Chair of the Management Committee of the Cambridge Greek Lexicon Project, [12] and is a patron of the charity 'Classics for All'. [ 13 ] On 22 January 2000, Easterling received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Languages at Uppsala University , Sweden . [ 14 ]
