Mullapudi Venkata Ramana (28 June 1931 – 24 February 2011) was an Indian writer known for his work in Telugu language. Noted for his humorous and metaphorical style of writing, Mullapudi received Raghupathi Venkaiah Award from the Government of Andhra Pradesh in 1986 for his contributions to Telugu cinema and he also won six Nandi Awards.
Telugu is the most widely spoken Dravidian language on Earth and is spoken in all of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh in India and parts of other southern states as well. The history of Telugu goes back as early as to 230 BC to 225 AD, [1] and the evidence for the existence of Telugu language is available in the Natya Shastra of the Bharatha people.
Sri Vinayaka Vijayamu is a 1979 Telugu-language Hindu mythological film directed by Kamalakara Kameswara Rao and produced by Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna Murthy under Jaganmatha Arts. The film stars Krishnam Raju, Rama Krishna, Vanisri, M. G. V. Madan Gopal, Kaikala Satyanarayana in the lead roles. The music was composed by S. Rajeswara Rao. [1]
Vasireddy Seethadevi [1] [2] [3] (15 December 1933 – 13 April 2007) was a Telugu writer, bureaucrat of Andhra Pradesh, India.. Seethadevi published forty-four novels of which eight were translations of novels from Hindi (4), Bengali (Navajyoti - playlet) and English (3).she also wrote nine short-story collections, three essay collections and five children's stories.
Katha (or Kathya) is an Indian style of religious storytelling, performances of which are a ritual event in Hinduism. He was only the third Telugu writer to be honoured with the country's highest literary award. He was awarded the 48th Jnanpith award for the year 2012 which was announced on 17 April 2013 for his contribution to Telugu literature through many notable works. He died in Hyderabad on 18 October 2013. [1]
