I type a number in MS Word and I would like to show it as currency (i.e. split it in 3 digits with comma and place a currency sign.). I wonder if there is any shortcut to do this. For example, I type a number and then press the shortcut keys to format the number as currency (according to the format which has been in set in Settings/Region).
The currency is not showing up when I use Mail Merge . Word 2007. OS: Windows 7
Click in the currency field. In the lower part of the window, set the Format property to the custom format ¢ #,##0.00 . You can't select this from the dropdown list, you have to type it yourself or copy/paste it from this post. You can enter the ¢ character by pressing Alt+0162 using the digits on the numeric keypad.
The format is Currency, and where the cell is dollars it is custom set to dollars and the same for Euros in the symbol drop down. Could be fine 5 times I'm in there then I'll notice that either the dollars have changed to euros or the other way around but don't know when it happens.
I have Office for Mac 2011. I was using Excel for Mac recently and had some trouble with formatting a column or several columns of cells in a spreadsheet. I tried to format them for "Currency," but whatever I was doing wasn't working. I am puzzled by this and would appreciate any ideas from technically savvy users on how to address it.
I've been working long with this Excel sheet. Every value is in currency set by a personalized cell style. All the data still works, except this one cell (G606) which, when trying to make a sum of values in it's corresponding column (from G509 to G604) the answer displayed is " $ - ". If I change the cell format to general, the sum adds to 0.
You can create a decimal tab, which will align the decimal points of a number. Then add a dollar sign and a decimal point. If you create formula in a table, those can be preformatted as currency. In addition, if you insert legacy text form fields, those can be formatted as currency.
