At this point, I have a little girl who has been in the United States for one month. She is currently receiving 3 Fs. It's not that there is anything amiss with her - she is well-educated in her first language but is brand new to English...and obviously unable to do grade level work in English. I'd like to suggest more fitting ways to grade ELLs.
