Alcoa is a city in Blount County, Tennessee, United States.Its population was 10,978 at the 2020 census. [5] It is part of the Knoxville, TN Metropolitan Statistical Area.. As its name suggests, Alcoa was the site of a large aluminum smelting plant owned and operated by the Alcoa corporation (Aluminum Company of America).
The Alcoa Highway portion of US 129 was first constructed and completed as a two-lane roadway from Knoxville to Blount County in 1939 to provide access to the then recently opened McGhee Tyson Airport. Initially, this route only carried the SR 115 designation, and in 1961, AASHO approved rerouting US 129 onto Alcoa Highway.
Maryville is home to one of 24 Alcoa Care-free Homes built in the United States in 1957–1958. [15] In the 1970s, after several department stores and other retailers moved from the downtown area to Alcoa's Midland shopping center, the city spent $10 million on a renewal project called "Now Town".
SR 35, alone, begins in Blount County at an interchange with US 129 (Alcoa Highway/SR 115) in Alcoa.SR 35 goes southeast as a 4-lane divided highway known as S Hall Road, where it passes through some residential areas before entering a major business district, where it downgrades to an undivided 4-lane, before crossing a bridge into downtown Maryville.
State Route 333 (SR 333), is a south-to-north secondary highway in Blount County, Tennessee, that is 14.49 miles (23.32 km) long. Its southern terminus is with US 321 and near Friendsville, and its northern terminus is with US 129 in Alcoa.

Along its length, SR 335 is known by several street names: William Blount Drive , Old Glory Road , W Hunt Road , and E Hunt Road .
SR 75 begins as a 2-lane highway in Washington County in Limestone at an intersection with US 11E/US 321/SR 34. The highway then heads northeast through rural farmland to have an intersection with SR 81 just before passing through Sulphur Springs. SR 75 then continues to enter Gray, where it has an interchange with I-26/US 23 (Exit 13).
