Saturday Kitchen is a British food television programme typically broadcast on Saturday mornings between 10:00 and 11:30 on BBC One. It is predominantly hosted by Matt Tebbutt and features drinks experts Helen McGinn and Olly Smith. Each show, they are joined by two, three, or four chefs and a celebrity guest or two. [2] [1]
The programme was hosted by Fern Britton from 1994 until 2000 when celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott became the new host. In August 2000, when Harriott took over, the duration of the programme was extended from 30 to 45 minutes. On 2 September 2019, it was confirmed that Rylan Clark-Neal would host a revived daytime series on BBC One in 2020. [5]

The series features contestants preparing a home-cooked family recipe, while professional chefs Mark Sargeant, Frederick Forster and Clodagh McKenna make the same recipe in an upscale restaurant version. The two dishes are then judged by a panel of food critics including BBC Food Programme presenter Leyla Kazim. The series premiered on 27 May 2019.
