On 4 December 2013, 520 registered Red and Grey Brahman cattle from McCamley's former Tartrus Brahman stud were dispersed at auction at the Central Queensland Livestock Exchange at Gracemere near Rockhampton. The sale was conducted under the instructions from the receivers of Jennifer McCamley Pty Ltd following the business going into receivership.
The property was acquired in the 1960s by the W. R. Grace Company, and developed as one of the largest cattle ranches of its time, consisting of over 1.1 million acres, and carried over 30,000 buffalo and 20,000 head of Brahman cattle. The property is now much smaller as Grace exited various parts of the business.
Beefmaster is a breed of beef cattle that was developed in the early 1930s by Tom Lasater (the breed founder), [1] from a systematic crossing of Hereford cows and Shorthorn cows with Brahman bulls. The exact mixture of the foundation cattle is unknown, but is thought to be about 25% Hereford, 25% Milking Shorthorn and 50% Brahman.
The 'Northern' properties run a mix of Brahman and Brahman X in their herds, whilst those based in the 'Central' regions run an Angus breeding herd. In the Southern region, several properties run trade cattle and when conditions permit they are used to finish Paraway bred cattle as well.

Adult bulls can grow to 84 in (2,100 mm) in height with a mass of up to 1,600 kg (3,500 lb) [1] The bulls of the breed surpass the Brahman by more than 500 kg (1,100 lb) in mass. It is still been debated whether the Sibi is the biggest cattle breed in the world. Bulls have been shown to compete with Chianina. [2] [3]

They are usually a Brahman crossed with another breed, weighing 1,500 pounds or more, selected for their tendency to "leap, plunge and spin" when a human is on its back. [1]
