It was written by the series' showrunner Jon Favreau and directed by Deborah Chow. The episode takes place in the Star Wars universe five years after the events of Return of the Jedi (1983).
Later, the Mandalorian and Vizla reunite with Bo-Katan at the enclave and they begin to devise a plan to rescue the child. Vizsla points out that if they use jetpacks, the raptor will hear them and kill Ragnar, so Bo-Katan suggests travelling to the nest on foot. The Mandalorians gather a hunting party and set off towards the creature's lair.
In season 3, the Mandalorian sets out on a pilgrimage to the mines of Mandalore and needs Bo-Katan's help. At first she refuses, but when the Mandalorian gets into trouble, he sends Grogu to get her help, and she races to Mandalore and saves him. They find the Living Waters and the Mandalorian bathes in the waters, only to fall into it.
The Mandalorian overpowers the Moff and brings him and Grogu to the others on the bridge. Gideon attempts to goad Bo-Katan into attacking the Mandalorian for possession of the Darksaber and a better claim on Mandalore since he won the right to own the weapon in combat. The Dark Troopers return and begin to slowly cut through the bridge's defenses.
