Chesterfield Football Club is a professional association football club based in the town of Chesterfield, Derbyshire, England. The team competes in EFL League Two , the fourth level of the English football league system , after winning the 2023–24 National League title.
The first Chesterfield F.C. was founded in the mid-1860s and survived until 1881, long before league football existed. The second incarnation, which became known as Chesterfield Town F.C., was formed in 1884. [1] Its first team joined and won the Sheffield & District League in 1891–92, [2] and first entered the FA Cup the following season.
