War Memorial Hall (more generally known as Memorial Hall) is a landmark building on the campus of the University of Georgia (UGA) in Athens, Georgia, United States.. The impetus for the building began in 1903 as a joint project between the local YMCA and the University to construct a recreational facility; however, the YMCA eventually decided to build their own building elsewhere in Athens.
Prior to the 1862 Morrill Act, UGA founded its military program in 1801, and it is one of the oldest such programs in the nation. Memorial Hall was built with funds that Georgia alumni raised following World War I and was dedicated in 1924 to those alumni and students who had given their lives in the war. [334]

Demosthenian Hall was constructed by Dr. James Tinsley in 1824. [9] It is the fourth oldest building at the University of Georgia and was placed on the National Register for Historic Places in 1971. [10] The construction was financed by the Society's members, alumni, and friends. [11]
