Maria Anna Walburga Ignatia "Marianne" Mozart (30 July 1751 – 29 October 1829), often nicknamed Nannerl, was a highly regarded musician from Salzburg, Austria.Already in her childhood, she established a remarkable reputation for herself across Europe as a child prodigy.
It is considered to be the earliest authentic portrait of Mozart, being commissioned by Leopold himself. It is attributed to Austrian painter Pietro Antonio Lorenzoni, [12] who also painted Wolfgang's sister Maria Anna Mozart. The artist executed first the interiors, instruments and clothes before the children posed. [13]
Originally the Notenbuch was a bound volume comprising forty-eight pages of blank music paper, with eight staves on each page. Inscribed with the words Pour le clavecin (French: For the harpsichord), it was presented to Nannerl on the occasion of her eighth name day on 26 July 1759 (or possibly her eighth birthday, which fell on the 30th or 31st day of the same month).

The Mozart family grand tour was a journey through western Europe, undertaken by Leopold Mozart, his wife Anna Maria, and their children Maria Anna (Nannerl) and Wolfgang Theophilus (Wolferl) from 1763 to 1766. At the start of the tour the children were aged eleven and seven respectively.
