College Station is underserved in a lot of areas. There will be some 25% more people coming into town for football games, and the hotel building is ramping up but not restaurants. Grocery stores are pretty average too.

Posted September 17, 2008. In the late 1980s there was a very good restaurant at 701 University Drive E., facing the Hilton, called "Cafe d' Amerique". It was an independent venture, jointly owned by the manager and the chef, Kraig Thome, who did fantastic things with food.
Most people want to leave College Station rather than make it a permanent home. I think 2/3 of the population is related to the school, so you are looking at 4 to 5 years and then they are going. Quote
