The White Pass and Yukon Route Class DL-535E (sometimes known as the MLW-Worthington Model Series C-14) is a series of narrow-gauge diesel locomotives that were custom-built by the Montreal Locomotive Works of Montreal, Quebec in Canada between 1969 and 1971 for the White Pass and Yukon Route (WP&Y) in Skagway, Alaska. White Pass & Yukon Route 73 is an operating narrow-gauge 2-8-2 "Mikado" type steam locomotive. It was built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works for the White Pass and Yukon Route in May 1947. [ 3 ] After retirement on June 30, 1964, the locomotive was moved to Bennett , British Columbia , in 1968 for static display.
It currently operates the 1880 Train on the former Keystone Branch of the Burlington Northern Railroad (BN) between Hill City, South Dakota and Keystone, South Dakota. This railroad line was originally built by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad (CB&Q) to serve mining and timber interests in the Black Hills .
