The third season of Dragon Ball Z anime series contains the Frieza arc, which comprises Part 2 of the Frieza Saga. The episodes are produced by Toei Animation, and are based on the final 26 volumes of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. The 33-episode season originally ran from January to September 1991 in Japan on Fuji Television.
Despite his humble origins, Jiren is regarded as one of the most powerful mortal beings among the twelve universes in the Dragon Ball mythos. Jiren was once considered as a candidate to become a God of Destruction - deities who are concerned with balancing the development of the universe they preside over by selectively destroying planets, civilizations or external threats.
Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan 4 Xeno Goku then team up and drive Janemba back with a series of simultaneous attacks. Janemba is about to continue the battle, but the fight is interrupted when two mysterious figures interfere by knocking him away, enraging Dr. W. Xeno Trunks and Xeno Pan identify the new arrivals as Majin Salsa and Putine.
These episodes and the first movie were later released in a VHS or DVD box set on October 24, 2000. Funimation began releasing their in-house dub beginning with episode 14 by themselves on December 5, 2001, in both edited and uncut formats, only to cease VHS releases two years later on June 1, 2003, in favor for the DVD box sets.
