Introduced in the 2017 model year, it was the most powerful diesel engine GM had produced, with 445 hp (332 kW) at 2,800 rpm and 910 lb⋅ft (1,234 N⋅m) at 1,600 rpm. Design specification performance can exceed 550 bhp (410 kW) at 3,050 rpm and 1,050 lb⋅ft (1,424 N⋅m) at 1,975 rpm.
The DMAX V6 engine is a 3.0 L; 180.5 cu in (2,958 cc) diesel engine. It was designed, and is produced by Isuzu in Fujisawa, Kanagawa, Japan but the design rights to the engine are now owned by General Motors. It uses high-pressure common rail direct injection with four valve per cylinder, cylinder heads.

The Chevrolet LUV and the later Chevrolet LUV D-Max were light pickup trucks designed and manufactured by Isuzu and marketed in the Americas since 1972 by Chevrolet over four generations as rebadged variants of the Isuzu Faster and D-Max. LUV is an acronym for "light utility vehicle". [1]
The predecessor to the MU-X, the Isuzu MU-7 is a D-Max-based SUV with a three-row seating arrangement. The MU-7 was released in Thailand in November 2004, being advertised as a "Sport Utility Wagon".
